rain and sunshine: an interesting pair.

It's raining in southern California. For the past couple of days, we've had rain, but the rain has been rather sporadic. It will rain hard for a couple minutes, stop abruptly, the clouds will shift a bit, and then the sun will magically pop in to remind us that we're in sunny California and that everything will be okay. (Southern Californians really don't know what to do when it rains.)

Anyway, here are some stickers that I've designed, as inspired by the sunshine in the rain:

I'm already an aunt from my husband's side, but my sister is pregnant with her first baby!!! So the little goober is going to be the first baby in our family. Yay!!! :)

This Friday, my sister is going to find out whether the baby is a girl or a boy. And to celebrate, she's hosting a fun giveaway on her blog.

Happy Chinese New Year!

For the past couple of years, I have tried to make handmade lucky envelopes for my little cousins. :) Continuing with the tradition, here's my design for this year, the year of the OX:



Now, I have to figure out how I want to construct the actual envelope. :)

I survived the first week back to work since the holidays, and man, was it tough! :) But thank goodness for a brand spankin' new year. I am ready for a fresh start.

Here are some cookies that I baked this morning. I'll give it a rating of 4/5 stars. They do melt in your mouth, but I was hoping they would have a little more substance to them.
